As long as he sought the\u00a0LORD, God gave him success.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 1-5:\u00a0\u00a0Uzziah, also known as Azariah, becomes king of Judah in place of his father Amaziah.\u00a0\u00a0Here in these verses we see Uzziah at the prime of his reign as king.\u00a0\u00a0It\u2019s no coincidence that the period of time when Uzziah was at his best was the period of time when Uzziah was seeking the Lord and remaining teachable toward his pastor Zechariah (v5).\u00a0\u00a0What can we learn from this?\u00a0\u00a0<strong>You are at your best and your strongest when you seek the Lord and have a teachable attitude toward your God-given leaders.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>2 Chronicles 26:10 (NIV)\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<sup>10\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0He also built towers in the desert and dug many cisterns, because he had much livestock in the foothills and in the plain. He had people working his fields and vineyards in the hills and in the fertile lands, for he loved the soil.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 6-15:\u00a0\u00a0When I read verses 6-15, I get the sense that Uzziah was not a hyper spiritual guy.\u00a0\u00a0He wasn\u2019t a natural worship leader like David, or a philosopher like Solomon, or a pastoral leader like Jehoshaphat.\u00a0\u00a0Rather, he was a warrior (v6-8, 11-14), a builder (v9, 15), a businessman (v10), and \u201ca man who loved the soil\u201d (v10).\u00a0\u00a0If Uzziah was alive today, I could imagine him liking to get his hands dirty fixing cars and motorbikes, gardening and working with his hands.\u00a0\u00a0I could imagine him loving to camp and to fish.\u00a0\u00a0At church I could imagine him being more inclined to help with the sound or lighting crew than to be on the stage leading people in prayer.\u00a0\u00a0Uzziah was earthy, but not worldly.\u00a0\u00a0Passionate about life, but not unspiritual, Uzziah was a man\u2019s man, you might say, and yet he loved God (at least in his prime).\u00a0\u00a0What was the result?\u00a0\u00a0\u201cThe Lord gave him marvelous help, and he became very powerful\u201d (v15).<\/p>\n<p>What can we learn from this?\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Guys, like Uzziah in his prime, you can be a man\u2019s man and God\u2019s man at the same time.\u00a0\u00a0You can love sports, cars, technology, fixing and building things, investing in different ventures \u2013 all of that is great \u2013 provided that you keep your heart set first and foremost on pleasing the Lord.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0When you do, you will experience God\u2019s blessing and become powerful.\u00a0I pray that God would raise up more men like Uzziah in his prime.<\/p>\n<p><em>Heavenly Father, no matter how many interests I may have, may my heart always be set first and foremost on pleasing You.\u00a0\u00a0In Jesus\u2019 name, AMEN!<\/em><\/p>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi GAMErs,<br \/>\nToday\u2019s passage is 2 Chronicles 26:1-15.\u00a0\u00a0Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n<p>2 Chronicles 26:5 (NIV)\u00a0<br \/>\n5\u00a0\u00a0He sought God during the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the fear of God.
