Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n<p>On verses 1-11:\u00a0\u00a0While the book of Hebrews contains more doctrine than most of the New Testament, it also contains some of the most important teaching on how to practically live out your life as a Christian.\u00a0\u00a0In these verses, the writer of Hebrews gives us 7 actions he wants his readers to take in light of all that Jesus has done for us:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Keep loving your fellow Christians as brothers and sisters.\u00a0\u00a0Treat them as family (v1).<\/li>\n<li>Show hospitality to strangers (v2).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0As a motivating reason, the writer of Hebrews alludes to times in the Old Testament where someone entertained a stranger who turned out to be an angel (see for example Genesis 18 and 19).<\/li>\n<li>Serve prisoners and those who are mistreated (v3).<\/li>\n<li>Honor God\u2019s design for sex, that sex be reserved for those who are married to one another (v4).<\/li>\n<li>Avoid idolizing money and be content with what you have, knowing that God is with you and for you (v5-6)<\/li>\n<li>Appreciate your spiritual leaders.\u00a0\u00a0Take the good things you have seen in them and learned from them and apply them to your life (v7).\u00a0\u00a0Just as Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (v8), aim for consistency.<\/li>\n<li>Do not be carried away by strange teachings but keep centering yourself around the grace of God expressed in Jesus Christ (v9).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Which of the above actions do you especially need to start doing?\u00a0 Take a practical step in that direction today.<\/p>\n<p><em>Heavenly Father, thank You that Your Word doesn\u2019t just give us a lot of information, but it leads us to transformation.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0May I not just be well-informed by Your Word, but may I be transformed by it, that my life would reflect Your powerful and living Word.\u00a0\u00a0In Jesus\u2019 name, AMEN!<\/em><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi GAMErs,<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s passage is Hebrews 13:1-11.
