{"id":6972,"date":"2020-01-01T20:00:14","date_gmt":"2020-01-02T03:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/?p=6972"},"modified":"2019-12-29T17:47:16","modified_gmt":"2019-12-30T00:47:16","slug":"job1_13-22","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/job1_13-22\/","title":{"rendered":"In Your Pain, Surrender to God"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"flex_column av_one_full  flex_column_div av-zero-column-padding first  avia-builder-el-0  avia-builder-el-no-sibling  \" style='border-radius:0px; '><section class=\"av_textblock_section \"  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock  '   itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Job 1:13-22 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Job+1%3A13-22&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click here for Bible Verses<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6973 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/200102.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/200102.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/200102-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/200102-450x225.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hi GAMErs,<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s passage is Job 1:13-22.\u00a0\u00a0Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n<p>On verses 13-22:\u00a0\u00a0In one day, four messengers come to Job, one after another, each delivering horrifying news: Sabeans attack and carry off Job\u2019s donkeys and oxen (v13-15), fire from God (possibly lightning) falls and destroys his sheep (v16), Chaldeans attack and steal Job\u2019s camels (v17), and by far most tragically of all, a hurricane-like wind causes the house in which Job\u2019s children are partying to collapse, killing all of Job\u2019s children (v18-19).\u00a0\u00a0Notice that in two cases, the loss came as a result of attacks by people.\u00a0\u00a0In the other two cases, the loss came as a result of \u201can act of God\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In response, Job tears his robe and shaves his head in mourning.\u00a0\u00a0Rather than cursing God or accusing God with wrongdoing (v22), Job falls to the ground in worship and speaks some of the most famous words in the book of Job:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Job\u00a01:21\u00a0(NIV)\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n<em><sup>21\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0\u2026&#8221;Naked I came from my mother&#8217;s womb, and naked I will depart.
