Were you brought forth before the hills?<br \/>\n<sup>8\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Do you listen in on God&#8217;s council? Do you limit wisdom to yourself?<br \/>\n<sup>9\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0What do you know that we do not know? What insights do you have that we do not have?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 1-16:\u00a0\u00a0Even after Job has lost virtually everything and has told his friends exactly what he needs from them \u2013 he needs them to shut up and just listen to him (Job 13:5-6) \u2013 Eliphaz cannot help himself.\u00a0\u00a0Eliphaz insists on speaking up one more time.\u00a0\u00a0With even more vitriol and accusation on his tongue than before, Eliphaz accuses Job of being foolish (v2-3), undevoted to God (v4), sinful (v5), self-condemning (v6), prideful and arrogant (v7-9), ungrateful to God (v11), rageful (v12-13), vile and corrupt (v14-16).<\/p>\n<p>Evidently Eliphaz has forgotten his original purpose for coming to see Job in the first place: to comfort him.\u00a0\u00a0Now Eliphaz has allowed his emotions to get the best of him and is now quarreling with a grieving man.<\/p>\n<p>What can we learn from this?\u00a0\u00a0<strong>When we allow our emotions to get the best of us, we stop being a blessing and end up get into unnecessary quarrels.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0It\u2019s no wonder the Bible warns us repeatedly against losing our cool and being quarrelsome with others.\u00a0\u00a0For example:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Proverbs 26:21 (NLT2)\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<sup>21\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0A quarrelsome person starts fights as easily as hot embers light charcoal or fire lights wood.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proverbs\u00a021:19\u00a0(NIV)\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<sup>19\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Better to live in a desert than with a quarrelsome and ill-tempered wife.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proverbs 21:9 and 25:24 (NIV)\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<sup>24\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2 Timothy\u00a02:24\u00a0(NIV)\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<sup>24\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0And the Lord&#8217;s servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.<\/p>\n<p><em>Heavenly Father, thank You for showing me that I stop being a blessing when I let my emotions get the best of me.\u00a0\u00a0Holy Spirit come and fill me today.\u00a0\u00a0I pray that I would be well-tempered and self-controlled, that I would avoid unnecessary quarrels with those around me.\u00a0\u00a0In Jesus\u2019 name, AMEN!<\/em><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi GAMErs,<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s passage is Job 15:1-16.\u00a0\u00a0Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n<p>Job 15:4-9 (NIV)\u00a0<br \/>\n4\u00a0\u00a0But you even undermine piety and hinder devotion to God.\u00a0<br \/>\n5\u00a0\u00a0Your sin prompts your mouth; you adopt the tongue of the crafty.\u00a0<br \/>\n6\u00a0\u00a0Your own mouth condemns you, not mine; your own lips testify against you.\u00a0<br \/>\n7\u00a0\u00a0&#8220;Are you the first man ever born?
