{"id":7894,"date":"2020-02-25T20:00:50","date_gmt":"2020-02-26T03:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/?p=7894"},"modified":"2020-02-23T01:13:16","modified_gmt":"2020-02-23T08:13:16","slug":"job34_1-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/job34_1-20\/","title":{"rendered":"Just&#8230;The Way You Are"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"flex_column av_one_full  flex_column_div av-zero-column-padding first  avia-builder-el-0  avia-builder-el-no-sibling  \" style='border-radius:0px; '><section class=\"av_textblock_section \"  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock  '   itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Job 34:1-20\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Job+34%3A1-20&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click here for Bible Verses<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7895 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/200226.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/200226.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/200226-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/200226-450x225.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hi GAMErs,<\/p>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>Today\u2019s passage is Job 34:1-20.\u00a0\u00a0Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n<p>From today\u2019s passage I learn a couple important lessons:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Be careful what you say.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Over and over Elihu recalls words that Job has spoken, paraphrases them, and then challenges the validity of those words.\u00a0\u00a0Elihu did this before in Job 33:9, and he does it again here in Job 34 at verses 5, 6 and 9.What can we learn from this?\u00a0\u00a0<strong>God is not the only one who will hold us accountable for careless words we have spoken (Matthew\u00a012:36).\u00a0People will as well.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Especially in an age of social media, you need to be careful with what you say.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>When you\u2019re angry and in pain like Job was, be especially careful with your words.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0As Proverbs 13:3 says,\u00a0<strong>\u201cThose who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol>\n<li value=\"2\"><strong>God is perfectly just no matter how we feel.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Job claimed that God had denied him justice (v5, see also Job 19:6-7 and 27:2).\u00a0\u00a0Elihu takes issue with Job talking about God as being anything but perfectly just. In verses 10 through 20, Elihu communicates the truth that justice is an unchangeable part of who God is.\u00a0\u00a0As Elihu says in\u00a0Job 34:10-12:<sup>10\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;So listen to me, you men of understanding.
