And where does darkness reside?<br \/>\n<sup>20\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Can you take them to their places? Do you know the paths to their dwellings?<br \/>\n<sup>21\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Surely you know, for you were already born! You have lived so many years!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 19-38:\u00a0 Out of the storm God is answering Job.\u00a0\u00a0God moves from asking Job questions about the origins of the universe (v4-18) to questions about the skies and outer space in verses 19-38.<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd\" src=\"https:\/\/ci6.googleusercontent.com\/proxy\/x7Az90uC0FlqG1NQNJvbQl7YtYRlnWzoqu2O_ZLb9xIKhYpJarh3aZrZ_qlU6_VKMQpRwI5_nDi9FsJOqf0XSQHw_6yv1VK7rhIBScGS2g=s0-d-e1-ft#https:\/\/ssl.gstatic.com\/ui\/v1\/icons\/mail\/images\/cleardot.gif\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Notice that in response to Job\u2019s highly confrontational and adversarial way of talking to God and about God, God responds in a confrontational and adversarial way as well.\u00a0 Just look at God\u2019s tone in verses 19 to 21.\u00a0 Or in verses 3 and 4.\u00a0 Or verse 18.\u00a0 This is perhaps the closest you will find in the Bible to God trash-talking a person whom He loves and will later bless.<\/p>\n<p>What can we learn from this?\u00a0\u00a0<strong>God watches and responds to the way we talk to him and about Him.\u00a0 If you come at God with pride, He\u2019ll respond aggressively.\u00a0 If you come to God with humility, He\u2019ll respond with compassion.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>People who think \u201cEveryone\u2019s going to heaven\u201d fail to recognize that God actually watches and responds to how we treat Him.\u00a0 If you\u2019ve ignored or resisted God all your life and done your own thing, do you really think God will or should respond to you the same way that He responds to someone who lives their life welcoming Him and being humble before Him?\u00a0 Definitely not.\u00a0 God is not indifferent to the way we treat Him.<\/p>\n<p>This reminds me of what David writes in Psalm 18:25-27: \u201cTo the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless, to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd. \u00a0\u00a0You save the humble but bring low those whose eyes are haughty.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Does God hate Job?\u00a0 Of course not.\u00a0 God loves Job, sees him as blameless through Jesus, and will later bless Job immeasurably more than all he could ask or imagine.\u00a0 But in the meantime, to deal with Job\u2019s prideful approach to God, here God is rebuking Job as a father disciplines his child.<\/p>\n<p>No matter what the storm you\u2019re going through, may you keep a humble attitude toward God.\u00a0 For God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>On verses 39-41:\u00a0 We&#8217;ll cover\u00a0these verses tomorrow as part of our look at chapter 39 of Job.\u00a0 Stay tuned!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><em>Heavenly Father, through every season of my life, may I always have a humble heart toward You, knowing that You oppose the proud but give grace to the humble.\u00a0 In Jesus\u2019 name, AMEN!<\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div id=\"m_5757032979392133763:n6\" role=\"button\" aria-label=\"Hide expanded content\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi GAMErs,<\/p>\n<p>Now onto today\u2019s passage.\u00a0 Today\u2019s passage is Job 38:19-41.\u00a0 Let\u2019s go!<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nJob 38:19-21 (NIV)\u00a0<br \/>\n19\u00a0\u00a0&#8220;What is the way to the abode of light?
