使徒行傳20:7 七日的第一日,我們聚會掰餅的時候,保羅因為要次日起行,就與他們講論,直講到半夜。
Acts 20:7 On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight. (NIV)
Acts 20:7 We met on Sunday to worship and celebrate the Master’s Supper. Paul addressed the congregation. Our plan was to leave first thing in the morning, but Paul talked on, way past midnight. (MSG)
四福音記載耶穌在「七日的第一日」復活(可16:9,約20:1),也就是星期日,初代教會信徒會在當天聚集,記念耶穌復活,因此稱為「主日」,當時仍採猶太曆法,主日是從星期六的日落時分開始。
守主日的最早證據是林前16:1-2的經文,保羅談到每逢七日的第一日為聖徒捐錢(奉獻),徒20:7也記載七日的第一日,保羅在特羅亞與門徒聚會擘餅。主後321年,信主後的羅馬皇帝君士坦丁一世頒布法令,正式把星期日定為商業假期。
基督教教會選定星期日(公曆一週的第一日)為「主日」,除了記念耶穌復活外,它使人想起神創造的第一日,神在這一天造了光,而基督教的五旬節也在星期日發生。基督教的敬拜本質上是記念耶穌復活的事實,顯出神的救贖目的已勝利地成就,因此,主日的氣氛是充滿喜樂和讚美的。
以色列人守「安息日」是記念以色列人與神關係的歸屬和聯結,信主的人守「主日」是記念信主的人與主關係的歸屬和聯結,兩個日期同樣代表與神聯結,並不衝突。重點是基督徒守「主日」,已經跳脫以色列人守「安息日」的規矩和守則,耶穌是安息日的主,祂已經釋放安息日的束縛,讓信主的人可以全然委身,將「主日」分別為聖、把它奉獻給神。
對信主的人而言,得安息不再是被限制在「安息日」或「主日」,有主在我們裡面,我們隨時得享安息。耶穌教導我們:「凡勞苦擔重擔的人可以到我這裡來,我就使你們得安息。我心裡柔和謙卑,你們當負我的軛,學我的樣式;這樣,你們心裡就必得享安息(太11:28-29)。」
學習負主的軛,學主的樣式,有主在我們裡面,我們就必得享安息。
