A Heartfelt Plea
When my eldest daughter was 13, she flubbed her piano piece at a recital. The silence in the auditorium was broken only by the pounding of her parents’ hearts. She hurried off the stage, threw her arms around me and buried her face in my shirt. “Oh, Daddy.” That was enough for me. At that moment I’d have given her the moon, and all she said was, “Oh, Daddy.”
Prayer starts here. Prayer begins with an honest, heartfelt, “Oh Daddy!” Jesus invites us to approach God the way a child approaches his or her daddy.

律法二 讀
/in 每日親近神, 每日親近神-2026 /by meiling〈申命記〉 1: 21 看哪，耶和華你的神已將那地擺在你面前，你要照耶和華你列祖的神所說的上去得那地為業。不要懼怕，也不要驚惶。
《申命記》這名字是從英文Deuteronomy直接翻譯的。Deuteronomy的意思是「律法二 讀」，這是根據希臘文舊約《七十譯士本》在此書十七章18節所說的，「當國王登基之後，必須將這律法書自己抄錄一本，要經常誦讀」而來的。中文聖經將這卷書譯成：《申命記》，就是有「重申」第二次宣佈律法和神的誡命之意。摩西第一次宣讀律法是在他八十多歲時，現在一百廿歲了，他看到的是新一代的以色列男人，這些人對律法的認知有多少呢？他們是蒙福的一代，可以進迦南地，但他們對神的律法記得多少呢？在他離世之前，他必須讓這新一代的以色列人認識神的律法，使他們知道前面的道路該如何走，以免得罪神。
因此，摩西在摩押平原重申出埃及的一段事蹟，在我們看來，似乎是重覆又重覆，卻是不可缺少的；也讓我們明白，要常常記得自己是怎樣得救的，聖靈是如何感動我們歸向神。所以寫得救見證是一個很重要的過程，讓自己明白自己的心路旅程，以備日後軟弱時可以重新再看，重新得力。
