約翰福音九章25節 有一件事我知道：從前我是眼瞎的，如今能看了！
在舊日的社會裡，甚至在今天的社會裡，人與生俱來的缺陷常被視為一種咒詛，令人討厭 ，避之不及。正如門徒問耶穌，瞎子是否因為某人的罪而瞎。但是耶穌說，他的缺陷是為了要顯出神的作為。這句話使人所認為可怕或可恥的缺陷變成榮耀神的，何等不可思議。原來在神的手裡，沒有所謂的不完美，只要我們把自己交在神的手裡，所有的缺陷和不完美都將因為神的恩典而能榮耀神。
在〈約翰福音〉第九章說到耶穌醫治了一個生來瞎眼的人。耶穌吐唾沫在地上，用唾沫和泥抹在瞎子的眼睛上，再叫瞎子去西羅亞池子裡去洗，瞎子就看見了。西羅亞池子在耶路撒冷南邊的一個水池，四面有高牆，希西家當年引基訓泉水入耶路撒冷，就是進西羅亞池。整條水道的坡度很平緩，所以水流很慢。在〈以賽亞書〉8:6，耶和華曉喻以賽亞說：「這百姓既厭棄西羅亞緩流的水，喜悅利汛和利瑪利的兒子，因此主必使大河翻騰的水猛然沖來，就是亞述王和他所有的威勢。」西羅亞的水，雖流得緩，卻是活水，是全耶路撒冷百姓倚靠的水源，也是耶穌要用的水。

2 Peter 3:1 (NIV)
1 Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking.
On verse 1: As an ongoing theme in 2 Peter, we see that successful Christian living is not just about constantly learning new things; it’s just as much about reminding ourselves of the truths of God’s Word that we often forget or take for granted. How well you recall the promises of God’s Word will determine how well you live and deal with life’s challenges.
2 Peter 3:2 (NIV)
2 I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles.
約翰福音八章7節 耶穌對他們說：「你們中間誰是沒有罪的，誰就可以先拿石頭打她。」
當文士和法利賽人帶著一個行淫時被拿的婦人來時，想要給耶穌一個難題。若是耶穌說打死這個女人，那麼耶穌的教導就會失去權柄，因為耶穌教導饒恕和愛；耶穌若說不必打死，則與律法有違。
耶穌彎著腰，用指頭在地上畫字時，有一位畫家畫出了耶穌心中的憤怒。祂的眼睛在冒火。律法上明明規定，犯姦淫要兩個人一起抓，一個人能犯姦淫嗎？但是這些知法犯法的文士和法利賽人行如此不公義之事，卻沾沾自喜，以為可以難倒耶穌？再一次這些人印證耶穌的話：「摩西豈不是傳律法給你們嗎？你們卻沒有一個人守律法」，沒有一個人守律法，只是把律法當成整人的工具，陷害耶穌的工具。
耶穌不讓憤怒的情緒主宰祂，處理事情靠憤怒是沒有用的。耶穌用指頭在地上寫字，沒有人知道祂在寫什麼，不過那是一個穩住自己的好方法。我們在生氣時也當學耶穌，不要講話，讓聖靈對我們講話，給我們話語和處理事情的智慧。
當耶穌回答：「你們中間誰是沒有罪的，誰就可以先拿石頭打他。」猶太人對罪十分敏感，因為他們經常要去聖殿獻祭，要認罪贖罪。聖經上說：「他們聽見這話，就從老到少，一個一個的都出去了」，為何是從老到少，而不是從少到老呢？因為越老的人罪越多，總有一些虧心事、後悔的事在心裡。

2 Peter 2:10-12 (NIV)
10 This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the sinful nature and despise authority. Bold and arrogant, these men are not afraid to slander celestial beings;
11 yet even angels, although they are stronger and more powerful, do not bring slanderous accusations against such beings in the presence of the Lord.
12 But these men blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like brute beasts, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed, and like beasts they too will perish.
On verses 10-12: In addition to the characteristics of false teachers that we looked at in verse 1-9, the false teachers of Peter’s day had three other harmful tendencies. First, the false teachers had a tendency to “despise authority” (v10). They would show no respect for the spiritual authorities that God had placed over them. “Bold and arrogant”, these false teachers had no qualms about speaking disrespectfully and slanderously about the spiritual authorities around them, including angels.
約翰福音七章38節 信我的人就如經上所說，從他腹中要流出活水的江河來。
住棚節共有七天，但是在耶穌的時代增加了一天，也就是第八天，在這天裡有一個結束的“聖會”(利23:36)，也是“嚴肅會”。嚴肅會的用意在於潔淨生命中的污穢。住棚節的最後一天，也是猶太人全年所有節期的最後一天，是一個非常隆重的時刻。按照當時的習俗，在住棚節期間，祭司每天要拿金壺到西羅亞池取水，再將水倒入聖殿祭壇旁有孔的銀盆中，讓水由銀盆的孔口流出，並朗誦有關活水的經文（例如：賽12:3；亞14:8；結47:1)。
藉此澆奠的儀式來記念摩西曾擊打磐石，使流出水來解以色列民的乾渴，也盼望彌賽亞能早日來臨，解決他們被異族統治，不得自由的乾渴。在住棚節的最後一天，人們拿著棕樹枝和柳條環繞聖殿而行；祭司要拿著金壺到西羅亞池取水，經過水門帶回來，宣讀《以賽亞書》12章3節：“所以，你們必從救恩的泉源歡然取水。”頌讀後，祭司把水帶到殿裡，傾倒在祭壇上，作為給神的獻祭。然後，大家一起歡唱“你們要稱謝耶和華，因祂本為善；祂的慈愛永遠長存！”(詩118:1)，此時崇拜者歡呼並向祭壇搖動手上的棕樹枝。
可以想像，在這樣重要的時刻裡，耶穌站出來高聲說：“人若渴了，可以到我這裡來喝。信我的人就如經上所說：‘從他腹中要流出活水的江河來。’”時，眾人是何等地驚奇。眾人再一次因耶穌起了分歧，有的人相信耶穌，認為祂就是基督，就是彌賽亞；也有人因著耶穌在世上的背景而看輕祂；更有人像法利賽人一樣，覺得自己的學問很了不起，不可能被迷惑。他們不但不信，還咒詛那些相信的百姓。因此耶穌說，“人若不回轉，變成小孩子的樣式，斷不得進天國。”我們常常因為有一點學問、金錢、資歷、經驗，就看不起別人，不能按著本相去觀察，做合理的判斷。我們心裡的光，被世界的標準遮掩了。

2 Peter 2:1-3 (NIV)
1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them–bringing swift destruction on themselves.
2 Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.
3 In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.
On verses 1-3: False teaching has been around as long as the garden of Eden when the serpent Satan duped Adam and Eve into believing something that was contradictory to what God said (Genesis 3:4). Just as there were false prophets among the real prophets in the Old Testament (v1a), just as there were false teachers among the early church (v1b), so there are false teachers today. How do you know if you have encountered a false teacher? Here we see some defining traits of false teachers:

2 Peter 1:12-15 (NIV)
12 So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have.
13 I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body,
14 because I know that I will soon put it aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me.
15 And I will make every effort to see that after my departure you will always be able to remember these things.
On verses 12-15: Why is Peter so set on reminding his readers about these things? Is it because he has nothing new to say? No, it’s because in Peter’s mind there is nothing more important for him to do at this late stage of his life than to remind Christians that God’s divine power has given us everything we need for life (v3), that trusting in God’s divine promises is the key to experiencing God’s power and living out God’s destiny for our lives (v4), and that being an effective, fruitful Christian is not just about having faith but about being intentional about growing in Christ-like character (v5-11).
約翰福音7:28-29 那時，耶穌在殿裡教訓人，大聲說：「你們也知道我，也知道我從哪裡來。我來並不是由於自己，但那差我來的是真的，你們不認識祂。我卻認識祂，因為我是從祂來的，祂也是差了我來。」
曠野裡，吃嗎哪的經驗，一旦進入迦南地就終止了；耶穌在人世的時候，也有一定的時間；聖靈來了，耶穌就回到天上了。有許多事，都是有時限的。例如，童年，一去不回頭；美好的友誼也不一定長駐；父母與子女都不能長聚，夫妻亦然。時間像一道河流，載著歷史和時光不斷地往前流，若我們不懂得珍惜眼前，不把握機會善待身邊的人，就會留下重重的後悔。
住棚節，是為了讓以色列人記念出埃及，在曠野中的四十年。神說：“ 我如鷹將你們背在翅膀上，帶來歸我。” 如鷹將你們背在翅膀上，表明神帶領他們避過地上的災難，讓他們很順利地到達應許之地，神是有大能力的神。事實上也是如此，但是因為以色列人的小信，才被懲罰多走了曠野卅八年。神說：“我領你們在曠野四十年，你們身上的衣服並沒有穿破，腳上的鞋也沒有穿壞。”神是供應、眷顧，滿有慈愛的神，兩三百萬人的衣服和鞋子，祂都一一記掛於心。
住棚節，就是想讓以色列人因為與這樣的神有了約，而一連七天在祂面前歡樂。但是在這個住棚節裡，耶路撒冷的氣氛並不像神所要求的，人人充滿歡樂過節；相反地，有許多人因為耶穌而意論紛紛，更有人心起殺機。當耶穌公然出現在聖殿教導時，許多人因為祂的大膽而吃驚：“這不是他們想要殺的人嗎？你看他還明明的講道”。這些人當中也有讀過摩西五經的，他們認為：“我們知道這個人從那裡來；只是基督來的時候，沒有人知道他從那裡來。”
約翰福音七章16節 耶穌說：「我的教訓不是我自己的，乃是那差我來者的。」
耶穌以五餅二魚餵飽五千人是在靠近逾越節的時候；此時已近“住棚節”，這期間相隔了大半年。“住棚節”是猶太人的三大節期之一，是從猶太曆7月15日開始（相當於西曆九、十月間），一連七天，慶祝收割季節結束，並感謝神厚賜一年的豐收；同時記念以色列人出埃及，在曠野飄流四十年蒙神眷顧的經歷。百姓們都上耶路撒冷過節，居住在臨時用樹枝搭成的棚或帳蓬裡。這節是神惟一特別指定要在神面前歡樂的節日（利 23:40）。
“住棚節”是在“贖罪日”後第五天開始，從每年一度最嚴肅的節日轉為最歡樂的節日，代表神饒恕了以色列人的一切罪孽之後，便可以享受從神來的歡樂。因為一個心裡有罪孽的人，不可能享有從神來的真正喜樂。耶穌的弟弟們叫耶穌“上猶太”去，因為耶路撒冷的地勢比其他地方高，因此《詩篇》裡也有〈上行之詩〉，是詩人去耶路撒冷時，一路往上走，一路讚美神的詩歌。
再一次，我們看到耶穌也有和我們一樣的問題，連祂的家人都不信祂。因此以嘲笑的方式，說：“人要顯揚名聲，沒有在暗處行事的”。耶穌的弟弟們和祂一起生活多年，都無法接受祂是彌賽亞的事實，因此我們的信仰不被家人認同，也就不足為奇，不用太難過。一直到耶穌復活之後，祂的弟弟們才有了很大的轉變，雅各成為教會的柱石，猶大也寫下了《猶大書》。正如耶穌所言：“我的時候還沒有到”，凡事都有定時，耶穌不著急，我們也不用著急。時候到了，聖靈自然動工。
