God Isn’t Finished

In the famous lace shops of Brussels, Belgium, certain rooms are dedicated to the spinning of the finest lace, with the most delicate of patterns. These rooms are completely dark, except for a shaft of natural light from a solitary window. Only one spinner sits in the room. The light falls on the pattern while the worker remains in the dark.

Has God permitted a time of darkness in your world? You look, but you cannot see him. You see only the fabric of circumstances woven and interlaced. You might question the purpose behind this thread or that. But be assured, God has a pattern. He has a plan. The Bible says, “In all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28). He is not finished. But when he is, the lace will be beautiful.

很多人想知道，离婚之后可不可以再婚，基督徒也不例外。摩西的说法，似乎是为人开了方便之门：「妇人离开夫家以后，可以去嫁别人。」但是耶稣说：「凡休妻的，若不是为淫乱的缘故，就是叫她做淫妇了；人若娶这被休的妇人，也是犯奸淫了。（太5:32）」因此法利赛人问耶稣：「这样，摩西为什么吩咐给妻子休书，就可以休她呢？（太19:7）」

在一个男人至上的社会里，妻子似乎变成丈夫的附属，可以呼之即来，挥之即去。丈夫不高兴就可以把妻子休了。一张休书换来多少眼泪。但是主耶稣说，这是不对的，你们把婚姻的关系弄错了，在婚姻里不该如此，「因为那起初造人的，是『造男造女』，并且说：『因此，人要离开父母，与妻子联合，二人成为一体。』

His Higher Purpose

No moment, event, or detail falls outside of God’s supervision. God is the one who “causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous” (Matthew 5:45 NIV). He isn’t making up this plan as he goes along. Daniel 5:21 (NKJV) says, “The most high God rules the kingdom of men, and sets over it whom he will.”

So if God is in charge, why does he permit challenges to come our way? Wouldn’t an almighty God prevent them? Not if they serve his higher purpose. The ultimate example is the death of Christ on the cross. Everyone thought the life of Jesus was over. Jesus was dead and buried, but God raised Him from the dead. God took the crucifixion of Friday and turned it into the celebration of Sunday. Can he not do a similar reversal for you?

凡劳苦担重担的人

〈申命记〉 23:9 你出兵攻打仇敌，就要远避诸恶。

神呼召对亚伯拉罕时，对他说：「为你祝福的，我必赐福于他；那咒诅你的，我必咒诅他。（创 12:3）」 这一句话直到今天依然有效。在以色列人进迦南之前，神宣布有一些人不得入耶和华的会。耶和华的会指的是耶和华的会众，也就是成为以色列人。根据犹太人的条例，外邦人若想成为以色列人，首先要接受摩西五经的教导，并且要脱离奴隶的身份。就像摩西在〈民数记〉十五章15节说的：「至于会众，你们和同居的外人都归一例，作为你们世世代代永远的定例。在耶和华面前，你们怎样，寄居的也要怎样。」所有的外邦人都可以成为以色列人，除了罗得的子孙摩押人和亚扪人，以及外肾受伤的，或被阉割的人。

Rejoice Always

Paul urges us to “rejoice in the Lord always” (Philippians 4:4). Not just on paydays, good days, or birthdays, but rejoice in the Lord always.

Rejoice in the Lord always? “Yeah, right,” mumbles the person from the hospital bed. “How?” sighs the unemployed dad. “Always?” questions the mother of the baby born with a disability. It’s one thing to rejoice in the Lord when life is good, but when the odds are against you? It’s not easy, but it is possible.

Lay claim to the promise of God in Colossians 1:7. “He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” Rejoice in the sovereignty of God. His thrown is still occupied, his will is still perfect. Rejoice in the Lord always. God uses everything to accomplish his will.

你们当中谁没有罪

〈申命记〉 22:22  若遇见人与有丈夫的妇人行淫，就要将奸夫淫妇一并治死。这样，就把那恶从以色列中除掉。

在古老的社会里对于处理女人是否贞洁的方法，竟然有不约而同之处。这贞洁的凭据指的是在第一天同房的晚上，女人的处女膜破裂所流出来的血，要用一块布接住，作为贞洁的凭据；倘若没有血流出来，就会被怀疑为不贞洁。这当然是很不科学的，因为有时意外或剧烈的运动都会引起处女膜的破裂，以此来鉴定，肯定有人被冤枉。

从这个试验贞洁与否的方法，我们可以连想到耶稣的母亲马利亚当年的震惊。当天使向马利亚宣布她要从圣灵怀孕时，马利亚的头会不会吓得嗡嗡作响，因为未婚而有孕在当时是何等可怕的事，是要被石头打死的。这也是为何约瑟得知后不想宣扬，而想暗暗把她休了。因而马太说约瑟是个义人，因为在他误会时，他依然考虑到马利亚的处境，不愿意明明地羞辱她，或置她于死地。

看见或看不见

〈申命记〉 22:4 你若看见弟兄的牛或驴跌倒在路上，不可佯为不见，总要帮助他拉起来。

在〈申命记〉22 章1-12节里，神教导我们一些做人的原则。

在第1-4节里，神用了三次「不可佯为不见」，也就是说不可以假装看不到。

在什么情况下不可假装看不到呢？1. 你若看见弟兄的牛或羊失迷了路，不可佯为不见，总要把牠牵回来交给你的弟兄。2. 你的弟兄无论失落甚么，或是驴，或是衣服，你若遇见，都要这样行，不可佯为不见。3. 你若看见弟兄的牛或驴跌倒在路上，不可佯为不见，总要帮助他拉起来。

在今天，牛羊或驴都可以改成别的东西，例如：衣服，手机，儿女，脚踏车，雨伞，等等。只要你看到是弟兄姐妹的东西，就不要假装没看见，在他人的疏忽上，付出你的关心，使他人不遭损失。

Trust God’s Sturdy Grip

In one of Henri Nouwen’s books, he tells about the lesson of trust he learned from a great trapeze artist. The acrobat said, “The flyer does nothing and the catcher does everything. I have simply to reach out my arms and hands and wait for him to catch me and pull me safely over the apron.” The flyer must trust, with outstretched arms, that his catcher will be there for him.

In the great trapeze act of salvation, God is the catcher, and we are the flyers. We trust. Period. We rely solely upon God’s ability to catch us. As we do trust him, a wonderful thing happens—we fly!

Your Father has never dropped anyone. He will not drop you. His grip is sturdy and his hands are open. Place yourself entirely in his care. As you do, you will find it is possible—yes, possible—to be anxious for nothing.

齐人非福

〈申命记〉21章 15-17节 人若有二妻，一为所爱，一为所恶，所爱的、所恶的都给他生了儿子，但长子是所恶之妻生的。到了把产业分给儿子承受的时候，不可将所爱之妻生的儿子立为长子，在所恶之妻生的儿子以上，却要认所恶之妻生的儿子为长子，将产业多加一分给他；因这儿子是他力量强壮的时候生的，长子的名分本当归他。

你可能没想到，在《圣经》里居然会谈到一个人同时有两个妻子的事情。可见在神的眼里心中，祂非常清楚人的情欲所带来的罪恶及后果。神也明白人的有限，若碰到无法解决的谋杀案，以色列人应当怎样行。神没有说，祂会帮我们查清命案，但是神要人在神面前自表清白。

你会觉得很可笑，现在的人特爱说谎，上至美国总统下至平民小贩，有谁不说谎？尤其是广告，更是吹牛撒谎无所不用其极。你觉得神的方法管用吗？

Look Forward

There’s a reason the windshield is bigger than the rearview mirror: your future matters more than your past. God’s grace is greater than your sin. You thought the problem was your calendar, your marriage, your job. In reality, it’s this unresolved guilt. Don’t indulge it. Don’t drown in the bilge of your own condemnation. What you did was not good, but your God is good, and he will forgive you. He is ready to write a new chapter in your life.

Say with Paul, “Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God is calling us” (Phil 3:13-14 TLB). Your salvation has nothing to do with your work and everything to do with the finished work of Christ on the cross. Rejoice in the Lord’s mercy.
